Not Always Harvest: Three Encouragements for the One Hard at Work
“…A man reaps what he sows”
—Galatians 6:7 NIV
Where does your journey with God find you today? Perhaps you are in a fruitful season, seeing evidence of God’s beauty surrounding you and enjoying a harvest reaped from seeds sewn in the past.
Or maybe, you’re like me: head down, doing your best to be faithful in what God has put right in front of you… but if you’re being honest, asking the question, “Lord, what are you doing right now?”
If the season you find yourself in isn’t a “season of harvest”, take heart with these few precious reminders:
Your labor in the Lord is not in vain.
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58
God always comes through as faithful.
Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The LORD is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all he does. Psalm 145:13
Working hard now, even if your heart is heavy, doesn’t mean there isn’t a fruitful season of joy underway.
Those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy. Psalm 126:5
If the season God has you in, is one where you are called to put your head down, work hard, and trust in his faithfulness, may you do so with all of your heart. May he bless you with his encouragement all the while, and may you find peace in the comfort of his very present love.
